Glendalough to Derrybawn Ridge Hike
Juju will guide our group along the paths, trails and forests to Derrybawn Ridge. Meeting at the Upper Lake Car park, we will start a steep climb by Poullanass Waterfall, along fire roads and narrow tracks to the summit of Derrybawn (474m).
There are great views of Glendalough Valley from these less travelled paths and Glendalough opens up below us.
We will walk Derrybawn Ridge (1.6km) which is muddy and exposed so dress for the weather and expect the unexpected up here.
We will descend to the forest and join the Wicklow Way along fire roads, passing Poullanass Waterfall and back to the carpark.
This hike will take approx. 4 hours. If the weather is not good, we will have a back up route or may have to postpone.
- Hiking gear is a must, waterproofs and boots are vital
- Maximum of 12 people
- Upper lake car park has a fee of €4.00 per car
